One-Pan Turkey Burgers
When you want a burger but don't want to spend an hour in the kitchen or scrub five pots.
Look, we get it. It’s been a long day and the last thing you want is a complex multi-step meal that leaves your kitchen looking like a disaster zone. These turkey burgers are our 'emergency' dinner—they are incredibly satisfying, lean, and honestly just delicious. By cooking them on a single sheet pan (or heavy skillet), we cut out the cleanup fuss. They stay juicy because we aren't overworking the meat, and the seasoning is bold enough that you won't feel like you're missing anything fancy. It’s high-reward, low-effort comfort food for when your brain is officially on 'power save' mode.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 2 unit bun — brioche or whole grain
- 4 unit large leaf lettuce
Method
- 1 Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2 In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands—don't overwork it or the meat gets tough!
- 3 Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1-inch thick.
- 4 Place the patties on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out so they don't touch.
- 5 Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- 6 While they bake, lightly toast your buns in a pan or under the broiler. Assemble with lettuce and your favorite toppings.
Variations
- The 'I'm Extra Tired' Version — Skip the oven and sear the patties in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes per side.
- Veggie Swap — Replace ground turkey with a plant-based crumble or a thick portobello mushroom cap seasoned with the same spice mix.
Notes
To keep the turkey juicy, make sure to pat the meat dry before adding spices. If you have extra time, add a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce (check labels for no forbidden ingredients) to the mix.
Equipment that helps
- Baking Sheet — Allows you to cook all patties at once without having to flip them constantly in a hot pan.
